Lookman scores as Atalanta fight back to defeat Empoli 3-2
Atalanta reclaimed their position atop the Serie A standings with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Empoli at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday.

However, Atalanta responded with resilience as Charles De Ketelaere leveled the scores in the 34th minute into the game.
The Nigerian football icon Ademola Lookman who was recently crowned African Player of the Year, wrote his name to the scoresheet before halftime.
This marked his 12th goal of the season across all competitions and gave Atalanta a crucial 2-1 lead heading into the break.
This victory puts Atalanta two points clear of Napoli, who had briefly taken the top spot following their 2-1 win over Genoa on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
