Nigerian Comedian Dr. Laff attempts to break a Guinness world record of 50hrs stand-up comedy show
A Nigerian comedian, Dr. Laff Albert, is currently making history with his ambition to break a Guinness World record of a 50-hour stand-up comedy show.

As of Saturday afternoon, Dr. Laff had reached 15 hours of his target and is progressing steadily toward breaking a world record.
“We’re 15 hours in and going strong! Currently in third place for the longest stand-up comedy show ever!
“Who’s still laughing with us? Stay connected to keep us fuelled for the next 35 hours,” he shared with his followers on Instagram.
The event started on February 14th, 2025. at Banex Mall, Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos State, Dr. Laff attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Stand-Up Comedy Show by an Individual.
Before the event kicked off on Friday, the comedian shared his excitement on Facebook, writing, “50hrs Stand-up Comedy Show by Dr. Laff is today.
We have arranged everything humanely needed to make the event a success. We now hand it over to God. A blast of a lifetime is what is in the vision we saw. God go run am.”
In his statement last Wednesday, Dr. Laff noted that the show, which will continue through February 16th, 2025, is not just a record-breaking attempt but also a platform to raise funds ($1 million) for a project called Talent City Naija, that is aimed at creating a hub for young talented creatives in Nigeria.
The current Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up comedy show by an individual stands at 40 hours and 8 minutes, a title held by David Scott, from the United States, who set the record in 2013.
