[SHOCKING] Ned Nwoko Asks FG to Allow Nigerians to Carry Guns

The senator of Delta State, Ned Nwoko sends another request to the Federal Government of Nigeria to allow the citizens to carry guns after stating that Tinubu’s policies will not work. He stated that granting citizens the right to bear arms is important for self defense considering the nation’s escalating security issues.

When he appeared on Channels Television today, Ned Nwoko highlighted that giving responsible citizens the right to carry guns will possibly empower them to protect themselves which will reduce the crime rate and solve a major part of Nigeria’s security challenges.

Ned Nwoko kept his argument further stating that given the current challenges in the security of the county, the best and most reasonable approach is granting citizens the right to carry weapons to curb the alarming crime rate. He believes that self defense is the best approach for those who have a limited means of protecting themselves. Ned Nwoko noted that the act of self-defense aligns with the growing need for personal safety in the midst of different kinds of threats.

While stating his strong belief and conviction on the matter, Ned Nwoko shared one of his personal experience recounting the tragic loss of his Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to gunmen. He recalled that his SLA was killed in November 2023, last year in a violent attack at his Residence in Abuja. Reflecting on that incident, he made clear his belief that if his aide had been armed, that tragedy might have been avoided. Further suggesting that if citizens were allowed to equip themselves with arms that enable them to defend themselves, criminals will think twice before attempting such attacks.

“My SLA was killed last year in November,” Nwoko shared. He added that his aide’s wife recounted the horrifying event, revealing that kidnappers had invaded their estate and violently entered their home. The family hid, but the aide, unarmed and vulnerable, had no means to protect himself. The kidnappers eventually abducted him, with tragic consequences.

The idea of granting citizens with the right to carry guns and arms comes with its own challenges, yet Ned Nwoko emphasized that it could offer a great solution for granting personal safety and peace of mind to the citizens. He argued that while the law enforcement agency presence is vital, the security forces are often spread too thin so citizens should be given the ability to defend themselves when and where necessary.

In Nwoko’s words, “If the members of that estate had guns, would kidnappers have the boldness to go from house to house?” He ended his statement by concluding that an empowered, armed, and self-defending community would be much less vulnerable which will in turn, reduce criminals confidence in targeting such areas.

Ned Nwoko Conclusion

Ned’s suggestion to equip Nigerian citizens with arms for the purpose of self-defense has sparked discussions on the nation future approach to security, however, he insists that securing the lives and well-being of Nigerians should be a priority, and the option of self-defense might just be a step in the right direction.
