During a recent hearing at the Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe offered a detailed testimony on how she administered a tetanus injection to Mohbad, which she believes played a significant role in his untimely passing.

On September 11, 2023, Ogedengbe was contacted by Ayobami Sodiq, a friend of the singer, to administer a tetanus injection to a person who had injured his hand.

Due to heavy traffic, Ogedengbe could not make it that day, but she arrived the following day at about 2:30 p.m. to find that the patient was none other than Mohbad.

According to Ogedengbe, the singer’s hand was visibly swollen, and she proceeded to administer a tetanus injection into his upper arm.

Before the procedure, Ogedengbe asked Mohbad if he had a history of ulcers, to which he responded affirmatively.

A a result, she decided against giving him a diclofenac injection, opting instead for a paracetamol injection, followed by the ceftriaxone injection to treat a suspected bacterial infection.

During the injection, Mohbad experienced discomfort, mentioning that he felt like vomiting, which Ogedengbe initially found surprising.

After Mohbad went to the bathroom to vomit, Ogedengbe noticed goosebumps on his body, which she found concerning.

His wife assured her that it was a typical reaction to injections, suggesting that water might help ease his discomfort.

However, as Mohbad’s condition seemed to worsen, they rushed to a nearby pharmacy to obtain the necessary medication, including hydrocortisone and saline infusion to treat an allergic reaction.

Unfortunately, the pharmacy did not have the required medication, prompting Ogedengbe and Ayobami to run to another pharmacy. By the time they returned, Mohbad was reportedly convulsing.

In the absence of a vehicle to transport him to the hospital, his neighbor offered assistance. After navigating through heavy traffic, Mohbad was put on a motorbike to reach the first hospital.

Despite efforts to save him, including CPR administered at the hospital, the singer was pronounced dead upon arrival. Ogedengbe was left in shock, and the attending physician questioned her about the medication she had administered.

The investigation into the events leading up to Mohbad’s death is still ongoing, as authorities seek to determine whether the tetanus injection or other factors contributed to the tragic loss of the popular artist.
