Annie Idibia, 2Baba’s wife is being dragged on the show and by her fellow castmates and viewers. A recent incident was when Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan called her and her husband out.
The drama escalated during a dinner scene when Annie made a comment about Zari’s husband and their marriage and it got heated. Feeling hurt, Zari retaliated by calling 2Baba a “baby making factory” and asked Annie what she has achieved in the acting industry.
Maraji responded to the backlash by sharing a video on her Instagram page yesterday, standing by Annie. She said Annie’s actions are not new, everyone gossips at some point. Maraji said the only difference is that most people are discerning about who they talk to, Annie talks to anyone.
Maraji also described Annie as a kind-hearted person who puts up a tough exterior as a defense mechanism against emotional pain. She said Annie’s “gra gra” outside is a facade to her soft inside.
This comes as Annie has expressed her dissatisfaction with the show. She’s been saying the producers edited out so many things about her. She said they focused on her marriage and left out her motherhood and entrepreneurship. Annie said during the 4 months of filming in South Africa, she was busy with so many things professionally and none of that was shown in the final cut of the show.
The Annie Idibia drama on “Young, Famous, and African” is trending and fans are talking. Some are calling her out, and some like Maraji are saying we should be more understanding.
