Man Caught With Stolen Wrappers Valued at N1 Million

The Niger State Police Command has detained a man named Abdullahi Garba for breaking into a house and taking 33 wrappers worth one million naira.

According to CP Ahawulu Danmamman, the state commissioner of police, who made this revelation at a news conference on Thursday, December 12, 2024, the suspect broke into the residence when the owner was at church.

“On November 29th, 2024, at about 10:30 am, the Police Operation Flush patrol team of the Bosso Division, while on a routine stop and search at Imrat Junction, Bosso, intercepted a tricycle conveying four passengers from Maikunkele to Bosso.

The passengers were subjected to a search, and a sack belonging to one of the passengers, named Abdullahi Garba, was found with ten new wrappers. When questioned, he appeared suspicious and could not give a satisfactory account of the clothes.

 He was arrested and taken to the Division for further investigation, and during interrogation, he confessed that he stole about thirty-three wrappers valued at about one million naira from a residence around Maitumbi on 24/11/2024.

However, the owner (victim) was traced and contacted, and she narrated that when she returned from church service on the said date, she discovered that her bedroom was burgled through the window and over sixty wrappers were stolen.

The suspect has been charged to court for prosecution,” Ahawulu stated.
