Magixx Opens Up on How He Joined Mavin Records
Fast-rising Afrobeats sensation, Alexander Adelabu, popularly known as Magixx, has opened up about the unexpected way he became a part of Mavin Records.

In a recent chat with media personality Adesope, Magixx revealed that he wasn’t even looking to sign a record deal at the time. Instead, he was just searching for a manager who could help him book shows and push his music career forward.
“At that time, things were really tough for me. I reached out to someone, saying I needed a manager—someone who could put me on shows so the world could see my talent. That’s how Don Jazzy happened.”
Magixx explained that in September or October 2020, Don Jazzy noticed him and reached out. Even though Mavin was preparing to unveil Ayra Starr at the time, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the process until January 2021. Eventually, Magixx was officially signed, becoming the last artist to join the label at that time.
“They were going to unveil Ayra Starr that September, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they pushed it to January 2021, and every other person followed after.”
Magixx’s journey is a testament to hard work, faith, and the power of the right connections. He never expected to land a record deal at that moment, but fate had other plans. Since joining Mavin Records, he has continued to grow, drop hits, and solidify his place in the Nigerian music scene.
