K-Peace accuses Nigerian idol organizers of withholding prize money 10 years After win

Kunle Ogunrombi, popularly known as K-Peace, winner of the 5th season of Nigerian Idol, has spoken out about not receiving the prize money promised to him nearly a decade ago.

In a recent interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast with Nedu Wazobia, K-Peace revealed his frustration, alleging that the organizers of the popular music talent show had failed to honor their commitment, leaving him without the N7.5 million and other prizes announced during his win in 2015.

The singer, who emerged victorious in the Etisalat-sponsored season, expressed his disappointment with the show’s organizers for not delivering on the promised prizes.

According to K-Peace, despite winning the hefty sum and a brand new car, he was left with nothing but frustration.

“I came outside of the Nigerian Idol platform with zero naira in my account,” K-Peace said, recounting his struggles after his win.

“As Nigerian Idol winner, I go waka all through Lagos, go for interviews without food for belle despite winning N7.5 million.”

He went on to explain the situation further, speaking in pidgin English, saying, “They announced that I had won N7.5 million. When I asked about the prize, they said they are still branding the car.

What they announced on national TV be say I won N7.5 million with a brand new car and I’m supposed to have a two-week trip to Dubai. I go through hell after winning the show.”

K-Peace’s revelation has sparked reactions among fans and public with many questioning the integrity of the show and its organizers.

For K-Peace, the years of unfulfilled promises have been disheartening, especially after what seemed like a bright future ahead following his win.
