The Anambra State Government has sealed a shrine in Umuofor village, Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, following multiple complaints from residents.
The shrine was allegedly run by a self-proclaimed native doctor, Ekene Igboegbueze, who promised unsuspecting individuals super wealth and was shut down as part of the government’s crackdown on !llegal spiritual operations.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi, while leading operatives of Operation ”Udo Ga-Achi” to the shrine on Wednesday, said the move was in response to reports from locals.
“Igboegbueze’s business is !llegal under Anambra State Homeland Security Laws,” Emeakayi stated, adding that properties linked to the operation have also been sealed.
“All items found in the shrine will undergo forensic examination, and the results will determine further government action,” he added.
The Director of Operations for Agunechemba Security Outfit, Chinenye Ihenko, warned youths against patronizing f@ke native doctors and pastors.
“The activities of f@ke spiritual leaders are fueling a get-rich-quick mentality in the state.
Our mandate is to sanitize Anambra, and we are committed to that. Anything contributing to the desecration of the state or aiding cr!minal activities will be eradicated. That, we can assure the people,” Ihenko said.
According to Punch news, Ihenko urged young people to pursue legitimate ventures to avoid falling foul of the law.
Recall that Anambra Native Doctor, popularly known as Akwa Tiwara Okuku, was taken into Custody by the Anambra State Government last Sunday to Prove the Efficacy of the money rituals he allegedly conducts.
It was also alleged that he was taken into custody for preparing ch@rms for k!dnappers and ritual!sts who masquerade as yah00 boys, terr0rising the state.
The Anambra State Government is taking issues like this seriously and won’t stop until the likes of Akwa Tiwara are brought to book.
