Joyce Wigwe speaks about her family’s ordeal during Hebert’s memorial service
In an interview with TVC News, Joyce Wigwe spoke about their family’s ordeal, how her brother was maltreated, and the presence of 10 arm3d vehicles, following the one-year memorial of Herbert Wigwe.

She expressed gratitude for how far the family had come despite the challenges, describing the moment as a victory.
“We give God the glory, we’ve come so far. We feel really victorious because, at the end of the day, the event went on, and Emeka was released,” she said.
Joyce Wigwe emphasized that their primary focus was to honour Herbert, Doreen, and Chizi, adding that God had been glorified through it all.
Joyce Wigwe mentioned that a group of security officers were present, along with Herbert Wigwe’s daughter. She also noted the presence of Herbert Tochi and Uche Wigwe, her cousin.
According to her, Herbert had brought Tochi and Uche into the family, treating them as brothers and positioning them as the family’s representatives in his affairs, yet they came with arm3d men in up to 10 vehicles and didn’t pay the elderly people any form of respect.
Joyce Wigwe recounted the events of the previous day, describing how her brother was nearly crushed. She explained that he fell to the ground, and a car almost ran over him before someone pulled him to safety.
However, as he tried to escape, he was caught again, fell once more, and ended up on top of the vehicle.
Joyce Wigwe said her brother was initially pulled away but was then restrained. She explained that he struggled to free himself, and in a moment of frustration, he struck the last person holding him.
This, she said, was what led to claims that he had been involved in a confrontation with the DSS.
