“I’ve Never Thought of Leaving My Marriage” – Omoni Oboli
Actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli recently revealed she has never thought of leaving her marriage. In a conversation on the ‘Pulse Fun Fact’ segment, Omoni and her husband spoke on the things that have kept their marriage going.

When her husband asked, “Have you ever had an ‘I am done’ moment in our relationship and how did you handle it?” Omoni replied, “No, I’ve never.”
Omoni however said she has had moments where she asked herself ‘why did I get married so early’. “I’ve had moments where I was like ‘why did I get married so early?’ but never ‘I’m done’. Ever,” she said.
Talking about their journey, Omoni stressed the importance of friendship and shared faith in their marriage. She said while disagreements are normal, their decision to resolve issues without thinking of divorce has been key. She noted, “We have made up our minds that we are not going to get a divorce. So when divorce is not an option, you must resolve whatever issues you have.”
She also revealed that the early days of their marriage were filled with arguments. She further said, “When we first got married, we quarreled every single day. We quarreled a lot. We quarreled so much.”. According to her, one of the reasons for their early struggles was that they didn’t have a courtship period before getting married. “It’s because we didn’t date. That’s what people don’t realize. We didn’t date. So, that first month, we were really just getting to know each other well,” she said.
Omoni also emphasized the importance of respect and understanding. She believes recognizing and valuing each other’s opinions has kept them together over the years.
Her husband, Nnamdi Oboli also had some words of advice for young couples. He added, “Marriage is a responsibility. You don’t go into a marriage expecting it to happen to you. You are not the third party in your marriage. You are the relationship. It’s between two people; you have to make it work.”
