IPOB Labels Biafra Declaration in Finland a Scæm
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has strongly condemned a recent event in Finland claiming to declare Biafra’s independence, describing it as a scæm orchestrated by infiltrators. In a statement issued on Sunday, IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful made it clear that no new Biafra declaration can be made, as the original declaration was carried out by their eternal leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, in 1967.
“What IPOB is doing is restoring the sovereignty of the declared Biafra Independence, which was forced to surrender through génøc!de by the Nigerian and British governments,” the statement read. IPOB emphasized its commitment to achieving this restoration through a UN-supervised referendum, rejecting any second declaration as unnecessary and misleading.
The group commended responsible media organizations and social media platforms for ignoring the event, which it described as a “jamboree” staged by unscrupulous individuals. “Biafra cannot be declared for the second time by anyone. It is sad that some unscrupulous elements who failed in their mission to infiltrate and déstroy IPOB engaged in the jamboree they claimed was Biafra’s second declaration outside the Biafra territory,” IPOB noted.
Emma Powerful further alleged that the individuals behind the Finland declaration are the same actors responsible for sponsoring insecurity in Nigeria’s South-East region. According to IPOB, their goal is to destabilize the region and make the genuine Biafra struggle unattractive. “Those involved in the event in Finland were among the sponsors of insecurity in the South East Region. Their agenda is to divide the people and divert attention from the genuine struggle,” the statement added.
The statement also highlighted IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s refusal to succumb to pressure to declare Biafra a second time. “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a brilliant freedom fighter who understands the seasons, times, and rules governing self-determination,” IPOB said, adding that the Finland group’s actions amõunted to self-deception and sc@mming of their followers.
IPOB warned that those obstructing the genuine restoration of Biafra would face consequences, though not at the hands of the group itself. “The blood of Biafra’s fallen heroes will chase and hunt them down,” the statement concluded, urging supporters to remain focused on the legitimate path to restoring Biafra’s sovereignty.
IPOB’s message is clear: the so-called Biafra declaration in Finland is nothing more than a distraction and a sc@m, with no legitimacy or support from the true Biafran struggle.
