“I’m now a complete woman” – Bobrisky’s menstrual claims sparks reactions
Controversial Nigerian crossdresser Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, has declared that he now considers himself a “complete woman,” citing the experience of a painful menstrual cycle as evidence.
Bobrisky, who has long been a polarizing figure in Nigerian society, took to social media to share his personal feelings, stating, “Honestly, I feel I’m a complete woman. Sometimes I break down when I’m seeing my period is painful.”
The statement has ignited a fierce debate that got many people talking across Nigerian social media platforms, with many reacting in disbelief, mockery, and criticism.
While some fans expressed understanding, others found the statement problematic, given that the crossdresser, born Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju, is biologically male and has never been a natural woman.
Bobrisky, who is known for his extravagant lifestyle, makeup tutorials, and social media presence, has faced frequent scrutiny and backlash for challenging societal norms regarding gender expression and identity.
The 32-year-old’s recent comment about experiencing periods, however, has raised a series of questions and mockery. “Bobrisky should stop making a joke out of womanhood,” said by a follower.
“There are women out there suffering from real menstrual pain, and you think you can just claim to be one because of a fake period.“
“This guy is a complete disgrace to manhood and Nigeria at large,” said by a follower as she expressed using a laughing emoji.
“This bro/sis is so funny, I can’t control my laugh right now,” another follower commented. “Bobrisky, leave this your coc@ine; make coc@ine also leave you,” another follower commented.
“Auntie, please come take my period. I’m tired,” another follower said. “I feel your pain, bro,” a female follower pleaded in disguise. “Gender is not about painful periods,” another critic wrote. “It is about biological sex, and Bobrisky can’t just change that by making such statements.”
