Nigerian actor and content creator Yemi Elesho recently shared a story about his longstanding relationship with Afrobeats superstar.

 In an interview with popular streamer Jigan, Elesho gave an insightful look into his history with the star, revealing that their connection goes back to their days as undergraduates at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

“I used to give Asake a ₦700 plate of rice and a bottle of Coca-Cola as performance fees for him to feature in movies during our undergraduate days at OAU,” Elesho said.

He went on to describe Asake as a “day-one” friend, emphasizing how their friendship has endured throughout the years.

In addition to their work together on campus, Elesho also mentioned their shared love for football. The two would regularly play in celebrity football matches, strengthening their friendship both on and off the screen.
