Prior to the news on Sunday, the Afrobeats superstar was captured in a video on Saturday during his live performance responding to his audience as they threw questions at him.

In the video, the crowd curiously asked about Annie, the wife of the singer, and he responded with a controversial statement saying Annie is at home, but they are still searching. In his words: “Annie dey house, but here, we are still searching”

The statement got fans confused as they could not understand what the singer meant by ‘they are still searching.’

However, this statement got more meaning after the ’Hate What You Do to Me” crooner announced his divorce with his wife on Sunday.

He further added that he’s no longer the man they used to know but now a changed man. “I no dey give belle anyhow again; I’m now born again,” he said.

This statement highlighted the polygamous nature of the singer and how he had successfully gotten multiple children from different baby mamas.

The remarks got some fans impressed as they praised the singer for being a repented born-again Christian who will no longer associate himself with old lifestyles.

@John- “Wow, thank God for your life. So happy you have discovered your sinful lifestyle.”

@Queen- “To God be the glory. 2Baba is now a born-again believer. Heaven is already rejoicing for your life.”

Regardless of the controversy surrounding the relationship of Annie Idibia and her husband, his decision to not impregnate women illegally anymore deserves an accolade.
