“I Didn’t Thr£@ten Nyesom Wike’s Life” – VeryDarkMan
Human rights advocate and well-known social media critic Martins Ortse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has refuted claims that he threatened Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, after the family of the late colonel Paul Osakpamwan Ogbebor lost ownership of a landed property.
According to history, the dead was the first Nigerian to be accepted into the Nigerian Defence Academy’s cadets of course 1. He was a veteran of the Civil War.
According to reports, the late war veteran’s family publicly protested a purported attempt to demolish an Abuja estate worth N3.5 billion that was first built by Mr. Ogbebor on Wednesday.
Notwithstanding the property’s long history, the management of the 42-year-old estate in Abuja also claimed that the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) intended to demolish it.
Mr. Enoghase, however, refuted these allegations, claiming that the family had been working to get the FCT administration’s Certificate of Occupancy and Right of Occupancy.
He claimed that the family had already deposited ₦10 million of the required ₦42 million to complete the process.
The dispute started after a video went viral that purported that Mr. Wike had taken the Ogbebors’ 1984-allocated family property.
A WhatsApp broadcast in which VDM was charged with thre@tening the minister’s life also made its way online.
In response to the accusations made against him, VDM clarified his position and denied them on Instagram. He reaffirmed his commitment to using his position to support oppressed people.
He said, “I did not thr£aten Nyesom Wike’s life. I am not associated with the WhatsApp broadcast making rounds.
I was appealing to the minister to reconsider the land documents presented by the family of late Colonel Paul Osakpamwan, a war veteran and the first cadet of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) with code 001. All the land documents allocated are genuine.”
The human rights advocate explained that a video he shared about the land that had been revoked was altered and inaccurate.
