Guardiola Extends Contract With Manchester City Until 2026.

Manchester City manager and head coach, Josep “Pep” Guardiola has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium. The 53 year old’s contract was due to expire this season as he revealed that he recently planned to leave the football club. Catalan disclosed that he pondered leaving the club as a result of their 4 game losing run in all competitions. Pep has, in turn, said that it’s the current struggles and losing streaks that the club is having that encouraged him to stay a little while.

This contract extension will make the Spaniard’s stay in the Premier League exceed a decade. Guardiola has been a huge contributing factor to whatever glory Man City has in recent years. This season makes it his ninth season in the club and his trophy catalog is insane. He has won 18 trophies, which includes six league titles and a Champions league title.

He admitted that his losing streak has been a bittersweet experience as it had made him ponder on leaving the club and at the same time, made him realize how much more he wants to do for them. “Don’t ask me the reason why. Maybe the four defeats were the reason why and I felt I cannot leave. I felt the club still wanted me or had the fact that we were together and that’s the reason why we sign… Manchester City means so much to me.; we have experienced so many amazing times together. I have a really special feeling for this football club.”

Pep has described his connection with the football club as special and has sworn to add more to the collection. The announcement comes as Man City navigates a challenging season but Super Pep has plans to torment PL managers for two more years.
