Fuji Legend Alani Clears Air on Alleged Role in Asake’s Parents’ Separation

Renowned Fuji musician, Alhaji Musibau Alani, has denied allegations that he was responsible for breaking up the marriage between Fali, the mother of Afrobeats sensation Asake, and her former husband, Mr. Odunsi (Malo).

In a recent interview, the Stand Well Well crooner, who is Asake’s stepfather, confirmed his marriage to Fali, a union that produced three children, though sadly, two have passed away. However, he strongly dismissed claims that he “snatched” her from another man.

According to Alani, when he met Fali, she was already separated from Mr. Odunsi. He explained:

“I met Fali as a single mother; she was already separated from her husband, whom I didn’t know at the time. We got along, and she moved in with me along with her son, Ahmed (Asake). I trained the boy.”

He also recounted an encounter with Mr. Odunsi, who allegedly thanked him for taking care of Asake:

“I eventually met her ex-husband, Malo, who was working at a council in Lagos Island. The day he saw me there, he even told his colleagues to thank me for taking good care of his son, Ahmed (Asake).”

Alani also debunked viral social media rumors suggesting that he performed as a musician at Asake’s naming ceremony.

“For the record, I did not snatch Fali from her first husband, and I was neither present at nor played at Asake’s naming ceremony.”

The controversy follows recent allegations from Mr. Odunsi, who claimed that Asake had neglected him, fueling heated online discussions.

While Asake has not publicly responded to his father’s allegations, reports suggest that he has been financially supporting his stepfather, Alani, who played a significant role in his upbringing.

This revelation has sparked debates about family loyalty and parental responsibilities, with fans divided over whether Asake owes his biological father any obligations.
