Enugu Set To Represent Nigeria At World Schools Debate Championship.
The President’s School Debate, Nigeria (PSDN) has endorsed the Enugu State Debate Team to represent the nation’s interest at the World Schools Debate Championship (WSDC) happening in Panama in the month of July, 2025. This was necessitated by their recent win at the 2024 National Debate Championship. The Enugu team took the first position at the National finals, with a team including students from various schools across the state.
Usman Muhammad, the president of PSDN, revealed in a letter to the team that this selection is to congratulate them on their wonderful performance during the National debate championship. “It is as a result of your State Team’s first position at the National Finals that the state has been nominated to represent Nigeria at the upcoming World Schools Debate Championship, in Panama in July 2025”, he said.
The team credited the effort of Dr. Peter Mbah, the governor of Enugu, and his government for championing education in the state with his huge investment. This strong educational reform has enabled Enugu to qualify for the National Debate Championship after failing to do so for 10 years.
The team comprises of Emmanuella Chukwuma of Holy Rosary College, Enugu; Chiamaka Okwuibe of Queen’s School, Enugu; Goodness Chinedu Chiemerie of St. Patrick’s College, Emene, Enugu; and Chibuikem Ukadike of the College of the Immaculate Conception, CIC, Enugu. Good luck to them…
