Ekiti lawmakers about to travel to Canada for leadership retreat
The lawmakers of the House of Assembly in Ekiti State are planning to go for a ‘supposed’ important trip to Brampton, Ontario at Canada. This trip is said to be for a leadership retreat to enhance their teamwork and collaboration skills in both executive and legislative roles.
Recently, in a message from the Clerk of the House of Assembly in Ekiti State, Titilope Agbede, it was stated that this retreat will commence by November 2024, and is solely focused on enabling lawmakers with tackle complex policy issues effectively and foster the bond with the Ekiti Kete Association in Canada.
The letter was addressed to the President of Ekiti Kete Canada, Barrister Adesina. It stated that the retreat main goal is to provide the legislators with the insights and necessary skills that are needed to navigate through the challenges of implementing policies.
Ekiti Lawmakers Statements
The correspondence states, “We wish to inform you that Members of Ekiti State House of Assembly and Officials, under the leadership of the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Honourable Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye, will attend an Executive Legislative Leadership Retreat scheduled for November 2024 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.”
This retreat is designed to immerse the lawmakers in essential knowledge and tactics to manage the complexities related to policy implementation effectively.
Moreover, the Assembly plans to make an official visit to the Ekiti Kete Association in Canada to create opportunity to engage with the members of the Ekiti Kete community in the diaspora. This act is aimed at promoting cultural exchange and engage in meaningful discussions that could contribute to improved governance and development in Ekiti State and benefit its citizens in return.
The letter kindly asks for a suggested date and time for their meeting, ideally between November 13, 2024, and November 20, 2024.
“We look forward to your positive response and the chance to meet with the Ekiti Kete Association to further and celebrate Ekiti’s cultural heritage through educational and cultural initiatives,” concludes the letter.
