EFCC’s Integrity in Question as Corruption Allegations Hit Its Officers
Nigerian social commentator Daniel Regha has set the internet on fire again with his latest post on X (formerly Twitter) where he queried the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He asked, “How can the EFCC fight corruption when some of its officers are corrupt? From detaining 10 officers in Lagos for theft to one of its officers stealing over $30k (reportedly)”
Regha’s post comes at a time when the EFCC is under fire. Reports show that the anti-graft agency has detained 10 of its officers in Lagos for theft. Another report states that one of its officers stole over $30,000. Such incidents have made many Nigerians question the moral standing of the agency tasked with fighting corruption in the country.
Regha’s post has brought lots of reactions with many supporting him which shows the growing frustration among Nigerians. CelebrityNote has gathered some of these reaction:

Regha’s post and the reactions show that the EFCC needs to be accountable and reform. As Nigerians are dealing with a deepening trust deficit in public institutions, we will see if the agency will take steps to redeem itself or continue to face the heat.
