EFCC Summons Billionaire Okoya’s Sons, Raheem And Wahab Over Ab¥se of Naira

Wahab and Raheem Okoya, the sons of billionaire businessman Chief Razaq Okoya, have been invited by the Economic and Financial Cr!m£s Commission to be questioned for alleged naira ab¥se.

Wahab and Raheem are scheduled to appear at the commission’s Lagos headquarters on Monday to be questioned.

The brothers sparked widespread criticism after a video surfaced showing them flaunting and spraying bundles of N1,000 notes in a promotional clip for Raheem’s new song titled “Credit Alert.”

The two danced in the video while a mobile police officer carried piles of fresh naira notes, which they threw into the air.

Social media users condemned the behavior, which many saw as a disobedience of the law.

Some Nigerians expressed skepticism about responsibility because of their father’s powerful position.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, announced Thursday that the officer in the video had been identified and taken into custody.

As of now, the outcome of the EFCC’s interrogation of Wahab and Raheem Okoya is not yet available, as they are scheduled to report for questioning today, January 13, 2025.

Raheem has publicly apologized for his actions, stating they were not intended to cause harm and asking for forgiveness from the Nigerian people.
