“Even if I don’t like what Burna Boy is doing to Akpi, I still like his songs, but Davido is my GOAT” – Barrister Adeyanju Deji

Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist barrister Adeyanju Deji has always kicked against using the Nigerian police to oppr*ss anyone. A few days ago, he claimed Burna Boy was a hypocrite for using the police to oppr*ss Speed Darlington and for denying him bail.

He claimed what Burna Boy is doing to Akpi can only happen on an animal farm, but the human rights lawyer, in his recent post on social media, admitted he likes Burna Boy’s kind of music despite criticizing him for oppress!ng Akpi.

“Despite my criticism of Burna Boy over the oppression of Speed Darlington by using the police, I still like his music because it resonates with my ideology around societal injustice & oppress!on. It’s nothing personal but just ideological principles. But Davido is my goat,” he wrote.

The post sparked serious debate as to his dispute with Burna Boy and who is the best in the Nigerian music industry.

A user said that roping Davido into this was very unnecessary except the aim was to fuel the not-so-hidden rivalry between the two songmakers.

However, according to Stanalieke, Speed Darlington has been granted bail after 3 weeks of being detained by the Nigerian police force.

Barrister Adeyanju Deji isn’t tired of dragging Afrobeat songwriter Burna Boy for his act towards Speed Darlington over a civil dispute.

@Ineke_Abuchi_Julius: “I love Burna Boy, but not to be compared to my love for 001 Davido

Father of Afrobeat. He’s the greatest of all time 💙💙💙💙

@Ed_Nazareen-GCKson – “Sentiment won’t bring Akpi out, and loving Davido more than Burna doesn’t mean anything here. Burna is Burna, and Davido is Davido. Don’t forget that Davido also locked up an artist months ago.”
