Controversial Nigerian artist Portable surrenders to Police after att@ck on officials

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has surrendered himself to the Lagos State Cr!minal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba.

This move comes after the Ogun State Police Command declared him wanted for allegedly leading a viOlent att@ck on government officials.

According to a statement from the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Portable voluntarily presented himself to the SCID on Wednesday.

Hundeyin confirmed the development, adding that the Ogun State Police Command had been notified to take custody of the singer for further legal proceedings.

This development follows a series of intense public scrutiny after Portable was accused of orchestrating an att@ck on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

The incident occurred on February 5, 2025, when the officials were conducting an enforcement operation in Ota, Ogun State. The operation aimed to ensure compliance with building regulations.

The conflict began when the officials encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar in the Oke-Osa area.

When the officials requested to see the approved building plan for a construction site, the elderly man informed them that his son, Portable, was not present.

However, shortly after, Portable allegedly arrived at the scene, reportedly armed with a fire@rm and accompanied by a group of nine thu¥s.

Together, they are said to have att@cked the government officials, using dangerous w£apons to disrupt the operation.

This vi0lent act prompted the Ogun State Police Command to issue a warrant for the singer’s arrest. As at the time Celebritynote compiled this story, the singer Portable was in police custody.
