Chidimma Adetshina Shines Bright as She Turns 24

On her social media, Adetshina wrote:
“BIG 24!!! As I grow older, I am reminded to love myself and live my life. My birthday shoot is more than a photoshoot – it’s me, my style and my spirit.”
Adetshina’s journey to success has been tough. Born in Soweto, South Africa to a Nigerian father and Mozambican mother, she faced many challenges because of her mixed heritage. She earlier withdrew from the Miss South Africa pageant because of a nationality dispute and xenophobic backlash.
Undeterred, Adetshina claimed her Nigerian heritage and went to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant and won. She represented Nigeria at the Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico City and was 1st runner up, the highest ever for Nigeria in the pageant.
She wrote on her post:
“I want to be myself and express myself and show the world my own perspective. A strong and fierce woman. Happy new year, here’s to more growth, learning and self discovery! Thank you for the love and support, can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
