Christmas giveaways ends in jeopardy leading to the loss of several lives.
Nigeria was in a state of grief and agony on Saturday 21st November, 2024 barely four days to Christmas following the occurrence of Stampedes which have left many persons d£@d and several people injured. These Stampedes all occurred on the same day leaving several persons and families in a mourning state instead of a festive mood.
In Abuja, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Maitama. It has been reported by Channels TV that seven persons have been confirmed d£@d while the number of injured persons stands at approximately 30.
In Anambra, it has been reported to be another ball game as the incident is said to have taken place at the residence of a wealthy man who had in the spirit of Christmas and festivities chosen to celebrate with the less privileged by distributing food items to them. However, as the saying goes “awoof the p@in Belle”, the crowd became too much and therefore resulted into the occurrence of a Stampede which has caused about 30 d£@ths and left several persons injured.
This has left social media buzzing as most Nigerians have blamed the President Bola Tinubu led Government for the high rate of poverty in the country.
In response to this tragic turn of events, the president cancelled all his scheduled engagements for the day. President Bola Tinubu also directed the police to thoroughly investigate the matter.
Tinubu has also directed the relevant security agencies to ensure that all organisations, individuals, and groups organising such gatherings always adhere to effective crowd management and control laws and rules.
