Asake Nominated for 2nd Consecutive Brit Awards for Best International Act

Nigerian artist Ahmed Ololade also known as Asake has been nominated for the 2025 Brit Awards in the Best International Act category. This is after a fantastic 2024 when he released his 3rd studio album Lungu Boy.

The title Lungu Boy is from the slang word “Lungu” meaning “ghetto” or “hood” which is Asake’s journey from the streets to the world. The album features big names like Wizkid, Stormzy, Central Cee, and Ludmila to solidify his position as a big player in the Nigerian music scene.
Asake’s unique blend of catchy beats and deep lyrics has taken him global and expanded his fanbase. This is a big moment for him and the African music industry as a whole.
This is Asake’s 2nd consecutive nomination in the same category after his 2024 nomination. He’s the only Nigerian artist nominated for the 2025 awards which means he’s getting bigger internationally.
In the Best International Act category, Asake will be competing against industry giants like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Benson Boone. The Brit Awards hosted by Jack Whitehall will be held on March 1, 2025, at the O2 Arena in London.
