“You were an asset to my team” – Akpi shows appreciation to barrister Deji
Controversial songwriter Speed Darlington, aka Akpi, shows appreciation to barrister Adeyanju Deji, who stood by him during his period of detention.

The controversial singer Akpi regained his freedom a few days ago after two months in detention.
In his recent post on Instagram, he applauded the human rights lawyer Deji for being a huge asset to his team.
“Deji Adeyanju, the only counsel on my team who have experienced the crim!nal justice system in Nigeria, you were a huge asset to my team and I appreciate you so much,” said Speed Darlington.
He also appreciated him for contributing financially for him to regain his freedom from detention.
Deji, who on the other hand, was continuously dragging Burna Boy for using the Nigerian police force to hold Akpi in detention over a civil dispute.
In Akpi’s appreciation post, he claimed someone tried to convince barrister Deji to stop dragging Afrobeat songwriter Burna Boy, but the human rights lawyer refused.
The post has stirred serious reactions from his fans and Nigerians at large as many aren’t used to seeing this side of the controversial singer Akpi.
