Actress Adaku – “I Like Younger Men”
Omotunde Adebowale, who is popularly known as Adaku in “Jenifa’s Diary” and “Lolo1” in the entertainment industry, has made public her weird relationship preferences. The actress, in an interview with Oyinmomo TV, lamented that her taste in guys was “very weird,” thereby stirring talk about her take on modern relationships.
In the interview, Adaku discredited the stereotypical attributes that many people have for a partner and, instead, highlighted that she indeed loves them young. “My tastes in men are very weird,” she explained. “I don’t like old people. I like younger men with long hair and earrings. Somebody who looks good.” This rather rare stand which she made clear, was molded by her shifting perception toward life and partnership.
Adaku does not attach her view of relationships to any traditional ideology of getting a “God-fearing man,” which she thinks has no place in today’s world. She said, “Gone are those days when you’ll be looking for a God-fearing man. Are you even God-fearing yourself?” questioning double standards in relation to society.
She also spoke about loving a partner who is Eurocentric in his lifestyle, further talking about her love for fine dining and sophisticated outings. “I’ll find it hard connecting to any man that’s not Eurocentric ’cause I’m a fine dining girl. You won’t find me on a date at some amala spot,” she adds.
More than Adaku’s taste in partners, she has spoken about breaking stereotypes and giving power to the modern woman. Her openness regarding the choices she makes speaks volumes, not only about herself but also resonates in the ears of many who believe that relationships must be honest.
For Adaku, embracing what she values the most in a partner is a greater commitment toward an authentic life that involves unapologetic prioritization of one’s happiness and compatibility.
