Human Rights Activist Dele Farotimi’s statements and Footage of his arrest by RRS Unit
It has been confirmed that human rights activist Barrister Dele Farotimi has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force RRS unit, formerly known as SARS, in his office in Lagos.
Footage shows where the RRS unit raided his office to @bduct him and take possession of all his phones and laptops.
Kunle Akinwale, the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command. He admits that they arrested Dele Farotimi and that he’s being driven from Lagos to Ekiti by road.
Why was Dele Farotimi arrested?
According to a statement released by Dele Farotimi a day before his arrest, he stated that Tony Elumelu, founder of the United Bank of Africa, had filed a petition against him earlier in November for defamation.
The petition was accompanied by an invite from the Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos State. But after much interrogation, he was granted bail and was released.
After which his pastor friends were @bducted and interrogated and were coerced into writing a statement. The arrest was also accompanied by a petition from the Ekiti State Police Command written by Chief Afe Babalola this time.

All efforts were made to lure Dele Farotimi to a place where he could be @bducted, but none were seen positive before the RRS unit invaded his Lagos office.
In the Dele Farotimi statement, all petitions and efforts to @bduct him were because he wrote a book titled “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System.” In the book, names were mentioned, including Chief Afe Babalola.
