An X user has come to relay the plight of Tekno in the Nigerian music industry and how loyalty is not always rewarded. In his tweet, he bashed an artist who many believe to be Davido for snubbing Tekno in his upcoming album. He took music lovers down memory lane when the singer Davido was without a hit song for a very long time. He recalled how Tekno came through for him and recorded a full hit (IF), which saw Davido stand on his feet again.
It was alleged that after a great deal of trouble Tekno has gone through, Davido snubbed him when he asked to be a part of his upcoming album.
His tweet;
“One artist told the world in an interview he didn’t have a hit for a while and Tekno came through for him, gave him a full recorded song and assured him it’s a hit. Years later after going through a lot himself including throat surgery, Tekno openly reached out to the same artist tweeting at him that he’ll like to be part of his then “forthcoming album” not only was he ignored he didn’t even come any close to the album. One would think one good turn deserves another… but not in the Nigerian music industry.

This has sparked debates where music lovers have brought forth their own opinions concerning the happenings within the music industry. A lot of them couldn’t help but feel bad for Tekno, who had really gone through a lot both in his personal and career life. Others, on the other hand, have come to defend Davido, stating it was just nothing more than a business transaction between them, and Tekno was paid for his services, and as such, Davido owes him no such gesture.
