SP Bright Edafe cautions Nigerians on how to behave

The Delta State Police Command’s public relations officer PRO, SP Bright Edafe, has stated that Nigerians’ behavior is why Nigerian Police officers are not like their counterparts in the United States.

He shared this on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Edafe wrote;

”We all want the Nigeria Police to be like the US police, it’s good, and it’s very good to wish for the best.

But do we behave and act like US citizens? The Police they say are a reflection of society. While we do our best to change the narratives, let us understand that it’s a collective b@ttle to be better. Peace.”

Reactions were,

@Omo ure: ”you’re the reason I’m starting to like the NPF. I still don’t believe they’re my friend but with you, let’s see how it goes sha.”

@Victor: ”Well said sir. But kindly note that your officers are not making that easy on anyone. People in the US feel safe when they see the police, while people in Nigeria feel tr0ubled when they see the police. This narrative must change. Every Nigerian sincerely wants to feel happy and Safe when they see the men in black uniform. Peace & Love.”

@Saucefit: ”Which people in the US feel safe when they see police. US cops sef are worst. Those ones go drag you out of your car without any right cause. Just pray not too encounter the bad ones. Cops are all the same.”

@Prince Somorin: ”you’re mistaken. I don’t want Nigeria Police to be like U.S. police. I expect Nigeria Police to be and do better.”

@Adebayo Onasanya: ”If we “Nigerians” should behave like major US Citizens, by now we won’t have any Nigerian Police anymore. Or which U.S Citizens are you referring to? Perhaps Puerto Rico.”

@Rita: ”Police are supposed to be our friends, but I don’t understand Nigerian police.”
