1 Week in Detention? Speed Darlington deserves Bail – VDM speaks out
Nigerian fast-rising music artist Speed Darlington has been in detention for one (1) week now following his rearrest by the Nigeria Police. Akpi has every right to be granted bail; human rights activist VeryDarkMan speaks out on Speed Darlington’s rearrest.

The court has refused to grant Speed Darlington, aka Akpi, bail following his arrest in Lagos a week ago after his return from the United States.

The human rights activist VDM in his post, admitted Akpi was wrong for defaming Afrobeat singer Burna Boy and calling out his mother, but using the Nigeria Police force to oppress people isn’t a good idea.
“This is oppression and abuse of power. If you want to detain him, take him to court and stop using the police to oppress him,” VDM pleads with Burna Boy.
“The judiciary system in Nigeria has been compromised; the court can remand you, and the judge will be absent on sit for weeks or months.”
“This is how some people have been in prison for more than the due time because of the poor system in the judiciary.” He added.
