" I thought this was Ojukwu's Biafran flag, where did you get your own?" - David Hundeyin

David Hundeyin- ” I thought this was Ojukwu’s Biafran flag, where did you get your own?”

David Hundeyin- “I thought this was Ojukwu’s Biafran flag? Where did you people see that Star of David that you’ve put inside your own?

You’re LARPing this your Okrika Zionism to the point of insulting your own purported national emblem?

This thing come be like mental problem at this point.”

David Hundeyin, a UK based Nigerian investigative journalist, was reacting to a post about a flag he saw online purported to be the Biafran flag.

The flag looks like the Biafran flag created by the Late Ikemba Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the founder of the defunct Republic of Biafra, but in addition to it, the flag has a star that is not found in the original Biafran flag.

The flag was posted by an X account @GovernmentBia which claims to be the official account of the Biafran government.

They declared independence of Biafra in a foreign country, and posted the flag as the country’s flag, alongside the tweet below.

“Congratulations Biafrans!

Officially the Independent United States of Biafra!” – @GovernmentBia

This triggered reactions from David Hundeyin and other X users.

@iam_arizona- “They went to unknown hall gather themselves and declare Biafra. If not sickness, how can they be free to spend three days deceiving themselves. On their way, going back, they will still use Nigeria passport and tell airport authorities that they are from Nigeria.”

@D_lone_wolf_ll- “If Ojukwu was still alive, he would have CONDEMNED the rubbish these people are calling “BRGIE.”

It’s madness at this point!”

@arinzown- “Three Questions for Umu Biafra.

1. Did Ndigbo agree that Biafra is the new way forward given that we voted against Ojukwu when he returned from exile?

2. How is leadership and governance decided in this Biafra democracy or by ‘suplim leader’?

3. If tomorrow Nnewi decides that it wants to go back to Nigeria, will their people be allowed to leave Biafra peacefully?

These questions I ask so that people don’t go from frying pan to fire. Kindly lay out the terms and conditions of this movement so that we know what we are dealing with. Because t£rr0rism and freedom fighting are not too far apart.”
