Thanksgiving Sacrifice Gone as Cows Worth 2 Million Naira Stolen from CCC Parish in Oyo

In respect to the annual Harvest thanksgiving of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Testimony Parish in the Egbeda area of Oyo state, hoodlums burst into the Church’s premises and went away with the two cows meant for the harvest. “This type of news shouldn’t come from a religious environment” a concerned citizen from Oyo state said. “I trust my Yoruba people as they will do something to bring those thieves to book “ another resident of Ibadan said on social media.

This is a devastating blow to us as a congregation,” said a church elder. “The Harvest Thanksgiving is a significant occasion for our parish, and we had invested heavily in making it special for our members and guests. Now, we are left scrambling to make alternative arrangements.”

Local police have launched an investigation and are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the recovery of the cows or the arrest of those responsible.

The incident highlights rising concerns over livestock theft in rural and semi-urban areas, a crime that continues to plague communities across Nigeria. Despite the setback, nevertheless, the church has vowed to proceed with its Harvest Thanksgiving celebration, urging members to remain steadfast in their faith
