This initiative, announced by the Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, follows a directive from the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed. The move is aimed at stopping the illegal activities often facilitated by fraudulent vehicle identification.

The FRSC has identified several fake plate numbers in circulation, including those with inscriptions like:
Diplomatic Number Plates
NYCN
Peace Ambassador
NAUS
CYMS
UN-Unity 01
UN-AMB
NANS
These fake plates are not produced by FRSC’s authorized plants or issued by state motor licensing authorities. Sadly, they are often linked to criminal activities.

To tackle this issue, the FRSC has: Launched Tactical Enforcement Operations: This operation will be implemented across all FRSC formations nationwide.
Collaborated with Security Agencies: The FRSC will work with other agencies to trace and shut down the sources of these illegal plates.
