Reflecting on his meteoric rise, the singer-songwriter draws a parallel between his journey and the iconic Superman.

Just like Clark Kent went from a small-town farm in Smallville to the biggest stage, I fought through my struggles to get here,” he says, emphasizing his commitment to uplifting other artists from his hometown.

Born Kelvin Masan, BIGKPLUS has become one of the most exciting acts in the rapidly growing Afrobeats genre, captivating listeners around the world with his unique sound.

His journey into the spotlight began with a viral freestyle over a popular American hit on TikTok, which quickly garnered nearly 100,000 views.

This breakthrough led to a series of successful releases, including his massive hit “Burst,” which has since amassed over 500 million streams across various platforms.

His music has a global appeal, but he remains deeply rooted in his hometown of Warri, a culturally rich region in Nigeria’s South-South.

It’s an ancient city,” he explains, reflecting on the historical significance of his upbringing.

“Back then, Nigeria wasn’t a country yet we had kingdoms, we had movements.” His music serves as a bridge between his traditional roots and his contemporary, international aspirations.

Despite his rapid rise, BIGKPLUS remains grounded. “It’s incredible,” he says, still in awe of how far his music has reached. From Warri to Lagos, the journey has been filled with struggles and sacrifices. He recalls, “If I look back, I wasn’t really that good.

But when I moved to Lagos, I saw life real life.” His big break came when a friend urged him to move to Lagos after his viral freestyle.

“I knew this was my only chance,” he says, showing the important decision that changed his life.
