Some South Africans have called for the removal of their Home Affairs Minister, Leon Schreiber after Chidinma Adetshina, Miss Universe First Runner-Up 2024, was spotted somewhere in Cape Town.

A video of Chidinma Adetshina has gone viral on social media where she was seen hanging out at a café in Waterfront, Cape Town.
This video has sparked fury among some South Africans, with many questioning how she managed to re-enter the country.
In October 2024, the Department of Home Affairs claimed that an investigation had found that there was prima facie evidence that Adetshina’s mother may have committed fr@ud and identity th3ft.
The department further announced that it had cancelled Chidinma Adetshina and her mother’s IDs and travel documents after they failed to adhere to an order to make submissions as to why their documents shouldn’t be revoked.
Chidinma Adetshina was forced to withdraw from the Miss South Africa competition amidst backlash and accusations of not being a South African.
Adetshina became a target of xen0phobic att@cks due to her mixed heritage, her father is Nigerian while her mother has Mozambican roots.
The situation escalated when claims of identity fr@ud related to her mother surfaced, prompting the Department to investigate her citizenship status.
Chidinma Adetshina was forced to step down from the South African competition and later went on to win the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant and Miss Universe First Runner-Up 2024.
However, a petition for the removal of the South African Home Affairs Minister is currently being circulated and signed by angry South Africans.
