A video of human rights activist Yomi Fabiyi has set the internet ablaze, sparking renewed hope in the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death. Oyindamola shared the trending clip, stating, “Yomi Fabiyi went to Idi Iroko border and also Murtala Muhammed airport to make sure everyone under the warrant of arrest concerning Mohbad’s death won’t escape through the border or fly out of the country.” Fabiyi is seen hanging on two ID cards, prompting some humorous speculation. One netizen joked, “One ID card stands for an actor while the other ID card stand as a sign of an activist 🤣🤣🤣😂😂,” while another suggested, “To meet immigration officials, you need proper identification.”
The video has ignited a flurry of reactions. Some are doubtful, with one person slamming, “Border wey them go corner. This man just dey f00l around.” However, many Nigerians are praising Fabiyi’s efforts. “Nigerians owe Yomi an apology,” one person declared. “Getting to the level where he got arrest warrant secured for accused persons is very commendable. That’s the best we’ve seen so far on Mohbad’s case. Others were opportunists including fidiem.” Another echoed this sentiment: “A very big move from him. I love when prominent people like Yomi Fabiyi step out for the poor people in this country.”
Despite the optimism, some remain concerned. “This Mohbad issue seems like it’s never going to end well,” one person lamented. Another pointed out a potential loophole: “Well, you’ve done your part. Well done but if I want to escape out of Nigeria through land border, I won’t use Benin Republic or Niger bother. There are many land borders without security self.” The question of who is on the arrest warrant lingers, with one asking, “Who do they have warrant to arrest? Put their names out there so people know.” As the investigation continues, all eyes are on Yomi Fabiyi and whether his efforts will bring justice for Mohbad.
