“I will go crazy if I ever win the Grammy” – Davido fails to win again

With the long-awaited 67th Annual Grammy Award concluded, several artists went home with an award. We saw Nigerian artists like Davido, Burna Boy, Tems, and Yemi Alade nominated for the Best African Music Performance.

But Tems won the award ahead of other African artists, which makes it her second Grammy award.

Popular Afrobeat singer Davido, who many thought would have won the award, recently said he was happy to see African awards included in the Grammys.

He also stated how he was going to go crazy in case he wins the Grammy.

Thank God they created the African category at the Grammys; if not, I don’t think I would have ever attended the Grammys, not to talk of winning it. Though I will go crazy if I ever win the Grammy,” said Davido.

Davido, who once said the Grammys is the only award he doesn’t have on his award shelf, has failed to win the award again.

This means his quest for the Grammys continues as Tems emerges as the 2025 Grammy award winner.

See some reactions from Netizens.

@Emmygold – “You show too much desperation because you are not composed, and these international bodies of Grammy awarders have studied you, so they are always showing you what the Grammy looks like. Don’t say you will go crazy if you win; just be normal and make classic Afro-fuse music.”

@Officaluche – “Now you see why Una dey underrate Burna Boy; he won this Grammy before this category was created.”

@Tobyno – “Bro is speaking fact from his dear heart ❤️; y’all shouldn’t act as if he does not care.”
