Samuel Animashaun Perry a.k.a Broda Shaggi was born on 6th July 1993 in Ikenne, Ogun State, Nigeria. He is the eldest of four boys. His dad a drama teacher influenced his early interest in the arts. After his dad passed on, Samuel moved to Lagos and continued his education.

Broda Shaggi attended Mayflower Junior School and Heritage Primary School in Ikenne before he moved to Lagos and completed his secondary education at Birrel Avenue Senior High School.
Afterwards, Broda Shaggi went on to attend the University of Lagos where he studied Creative Arts since he had a passion for arts.
Career
Broda Shaggi started his entertainment career during his university days where he started creating and sharing short comedy skits on social media. His style and content was unique and relatable and he got a massive following online. The breakthrough came with his skit “Jesu in Mushin” which went viral and cemented his place in the Nigerian comedy scene. Over time, he developed the “Broda Shaggi” character which was portrayed as a street smart guy and became his signature character.
Beyond comedy Broda Shaggi ventured into music and acting. He has released several songs including “Ori”, “Bushman” and “Serere” combining humor with music. In Nollywood he has featured in several movies and TV series including “Ghetto Bred” (2018), “The Bling Lagosians” (2019) and “Fate of Alakada: The Party Planner” (2020). He won the Best Actor in a Comedy at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in 2022 and 2023.
