“I’ve reached out to everyone, no one wants to help Speed Darlington” — Lawyer cries out 

It is no longer news that popular Nigerian singer Speed Darlington was arrested on November 27, 2024, for alleged defamation against Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy.

Speed Darlington, who had spent days in a detention center, now has a team of lawyers who have been working hard for his release.

Recently, the federal high court in Abuja ruled that the singer should be released immediately, but unfortunately, the declaration does not strike any chord.

In the fight to get the controversial entertainer free, his lawyer has disclosed that despite numerous efforts to seek support for his release, help seems to be in short supply.

Known for his eccentric personality and unconventional music, Speed Darlington has carved a niche for himself in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Yet, according to his lawyer, his antics may have left him without allies when he needs them the most. Speaking to the press on Friday, December 27, 2024, the lawyer said, “I’ve reached out to everyone I could think of—colleagues, industry insiders, even friends and family. But no one seems willing to help Speed Darlington.”

This statement has sparked discussions online as many question the kind of relationship the singer keeps.

“People are just like that. They only stay with you when things are going well.”

“Where are those supporting him all this while? They should come now that he needed them the most.”

While the lawyer is still trying hard to get justice for the singer, the latest revelation shows how his controversial image might be affecting his relationships within the industry.
