Grammy award winner Wizkid’s “Morayo” album has just surpassed 308 million streams in just one full month of its release.

The album, which is Wizkid’s sixth studio album, was released on the 22nd of November, 2024, and has been making waves and breaking records since it was released. The album is titled “Morayo,” a Yoruba name meaning “I see joy,” was the name of his late mom, Jane Morayo Balogun, who died in London on August 22, 2023. Wizkid named the album in honour of his late mother to show the love they both shared.

Social media communities have taken to various platforms to react to Wizkid’s new streaming record, with many congratulating the singer on his achievement and praising the album’s emotional and musical depth.

The title of the album attracts much attention.The crooner described the album as the sixth-best album since his mother died to express deep feeling and the vacuum it has created.

The album art cover carries the image of his late mother, which signifies how much love is shared.Wizkid’s Morayo album has garnered 154,645,187 streams on Spotify and 72,443,202 streams on Apple Music. 51,185,469 29,871 000 streams on YouTube, making a total of 308,144,849 streams, in its first month of release. It is the first of its kind, as it has put the artist on a map where no other artist from Africa has ever been.
