“Switch off your light to control electricity bills” Tinubu tells Nigerians
It is no longer news that many Nigerians are battling economic hardship across the country since Bola Ahmed Tinubu was sworn in as president-elect.
Amidst the hunger in the country, President Tinubu has called on Nigerians to adopt better resource management practices in the face of rising electricity costs.
In a meeting, the President discussed the importance of learning to manage energy consumption, urging citizens to “switch off the light” as a way to cut unnecessary expenses and cope with the rising cost of living.
Tinubu, in his words read, “It’s not negative to learn to manage. You learn to control your electricity bill, switch off the light, and let’s learn to manage,” encouraging Nigerians to adapt to the current economic realities other than living flamboyant lifestyles.
President Tinubu also eliminated calls for price control; instead, he vowed to boost market supply through policies aimed at stabilizing the economy.
However, many Nigerians are skeptical about the competence of the president and his APC-led policies that are suffocating Nigerians and keeping them in poverty and hopelessness.
Tinubu’s advice on managing electricity bills may help some reduce costs, but many Nigerians are demanding broader solutions to ease the financial challenges they face daily.
